As a young child growing up in a small Georgia town, drawing was
what made me feel
really special. I graduated
from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree,
and have enjoyed creating art ever since.
Today, my work can generally be divided into three categories:
abstract paintings,
mixed media, and
monotypes. My mixed media and monotypes are
often conceptual and narrative, blending subtle muted
colors with original photographs. They frequently evolve into pieces
that express an aura of mystery and drama. In contrast, my
paintings are usually bold colors,
patterns, textures, and writings, combined to create abstract,
spontaneous
images.
I live and work in Pound Ridge, New York, and have exhibited my
work in
numerous juried
and one-person shows in the Northeast. I am a member of
several artist guilds, and, as an
artist member of the Silvermine Guild of Arts in New Canaan, CT,
have a solo show opening
there
September 26th, 2010.
Art is the one thing I love most. It has enriched my life in
countless ways, and I am always pleased to share my work with
others.
